ERA Singapore Calls for More Support to Relief Efforts in Flood-hit Myanmar

Singapore, 13 August 2015 – ERA Realty Network Pte Ltd has stepped up in its relief efforts following an official government request for help and recent media updates of the worrying situation in the neighbour country.

According to the latest media report by Channel News Asia on the Myanmar flood[1]: Nearly one million people are affected as over 1.2 million acres of rice fields are submerged in water, with more than 430,000 acres destroyed by the floods.

ERA Singapore office has taken an immediate action on 3 August 2015 to support the relief aids efforts spearheaded by Alina Tan, a Singaporean working in ERA representative office in Myanmar. Being the largest real estate agency in Singapore, the organization has managed to collect a 20-footer container of food, clothes and medical supplies through its wide network of agents within a week time, in addition to the 3 shipments of medical supplies which have been shipped out for emergency use earlier.

“We are saddened to hear about the flood situation in Myanmar. All our agents, approx 6050 of them, have been activated to spread awareness on the organisation’s relief efforts. We are sparing no expense in doing what we can to help the people of Myanmar,” said Jack Chua, CEO of ERA Singapore.

All these efforts are in support of ULG.org, an organization formed to help flood victims in Myanmar. The medical supplies which include over 500 boxes of aquatabs, panadols, ultracarbon tabs and other similar medications together with donated food, clothes and other donated items – first batch of the donated relief supplies – will be shipped out by end of this week.

The organisation is now calling upon more fellow Singaporeans to drop off food and medical supplies as well as clothes at its ERA Singapore office. The volunteers will then sort out and pack the supplies. ERA Singapore will also be funding the expenses related to shipping and transportation of containers.
