A Buyer’s Guide to Auction

Old Airport Road Food Centre is arguably one of the best hawkers in Singapore. With over 160 stalls, it has a wide range of local delicacies that you can choose from with just $5. Here are 5 stalls who sell yummy meals that would cost less than $5:

1. Selera Rasa (#01-42)

A Buyer’s Guide to Auction

They are well-known for its ‘Special Nasi Beryani DAM’, which cost only $3 for a considerably large portion. It gives you 3 options to choose from: Kambing (mutton), ayam (chicken – fried or curry) and ikan (fish). Their chicken briyani is the more popular choice there. Their rice is quite fluffy and the spiciness of their curry is generally acceptable for people with low spice tolerance. If you intend to try out their Nasi Briyani, go before 12pm to avoid the long queue!

2. Kheng Hai Hui Boneless Chicken Rice (#01-25)

A Buyer’s Guide to Auction

A plate of chicken rice sold here starts from $2.50, which we feel is a rather reasonable pricing. The quality of their chicken is tender and consistent too. For foodies who prefer sweeter flavoured sauce with your chicken rice, Kheng Hai Hui would be the stall for you.

3. MOMO (#01-128)

A Buyer’s Guide to Auction

Do you have a craving for pastas? If so, MOMO is one of the unique stalls which serve fried chicken with delicious pastas. Its popular Aglio Olio series cost around $4.50 to $6. If you are feeling adventurous, try out their Asian flavours such as Kimchi Cheese and more!

4. Xing Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lor Mee (#01-116)

A Buyer’s Guide to Auction

A long queue at Xin Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lor Mee is a frequent sight but the stall is pretty efficient. Priced at $4 and $5 to cater for different appetites, their lor mee is certainly worth the queue if you have the time.

5. Toast Hut (#01-52)

A Buyer’s Guide to Auction

Toast Hut is popular for its breakfast sets that priced around $2 – $3. In addition, their fragrant coffee and tea draws fans back time and time again. It is a good choice to start your day with or for a relaxed tea break.
